Parks and Recreation Summer Camp Intern
This position will assist in the planning, development, marketing and implementation of a variety of recreation programs, with an emphasis in summer camp, while obtaining experience in recreation designed to meet each student's specific goals and objectives. Primary summer camp responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Communication: Send weekly email updates to all registered camp registrations with relevant camp information and instructions. Parent & Guardian Support: Serve as the primary contact for parents and guardians regarding camp-related questions, comments, and concerns. Assist parents and guardians with camp registration as needed. Meal hour Supervision: Oversee the Lunch Bunch hour, including meal distribution, child supervision, and lunchtime programming. Make weekly lunch orders with the caterer. Reporting: Generate and run reports using the camp registration software. Track and record daily camp attendance accurately. Data entry for record keeping into spreadsheets & registration software. Contractor Liaison: Act as communication link as needed between contracted camp providers and recreation leadership during camp programming. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a parks and recreation department, camp counseling, elementary education and/or activity programming for children.
