
Account Manager - Sales
The Account Manager will act as primary contact representing Pelican Wire for all aspects of their assigned customers. This team member will fulfill incoming orders, upsell / cross-sell, and manage the customers' needs ensuring Company and Customer goal attainment with highest customer satisfaction. The Account Manager will also drive new business through consistent execution of demand creation activities. Your Day-to-Day Embedding yourself into your assigned clients' business so that you become part of managing their operations Making operational and strategic recommendations to further your accounts' goals Tenaciously identifying and responding to revenue opportunities within assigned customer accounts through the phone, web, emails, presentations, programs and other activities Setting pricing and negotiating terms of sales in accordance with company guidelines Generating, qualifying, and following-up on prospects, leads, and referrals Responding to requests from customers for information Ensuring proper identification, planning, account qualification and needs analysis by partnering with other departments (Engineering, Quality, Scheduling, Production, Shipping) Telephoning customers to identify appropriate contacts, qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline once identified by Business Development Working closely with other Account Managers, CSRs, and Business Development Troubleshooting customer issues through internal resources (see Departments above) and external resources (research, benchmarking) Maintaining a high volume of activity including outbound calls, emails, and social selling Exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas Thriving on change while remaining highly organized, optimistic, and coachable Keeping management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports Remaining knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in the wire and cable, engineered manufacturing, and B2B industries What You Bring to the Team 4 year degree and 2+ years of successful growth in B2B inside sales or a combination of equivalent education and experience Strong track record of achievement selling custom engineered manufactured goods Previously trained in consultative / value based selling Strong communication proficiency and customer service mindset Business acumen and attention to detail Quick learner and not intimidated by ambiguity Ability to analyze information and solve problems Technical capacity, use of ERPs and CRMs Bi-lingual English/Spanish (preferred, not required) Physical & Environmental Requirements: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk, hear, stand and walk. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, grasp, reach, lift, push and pull. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
