Position Summary

Communities in Schools of Central Texas seeks an

Associate Director of Data Strategy and Impact

to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the organization's data ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, systems, and student success and ensures data is leveraged as a core organization asset, not a back-office function.

The Associate Director will oversee data infrastructure anchored in Salesforce, strengthen data governance and analytics, and partner with leadership to translate information into actionable insight. This position is ideal for a collaborative leader who thrives in complexity, balances strategy with execution, and is motivated by measurable impact on students and communities.

This position is based in our Austin administrative office, with the potential for one (1) hybrid work-from-home day per week.

Strategic Leadership

Set and execute the organization's data strategy in alignment with programmatic and organizational priorities. Partner with executive leadership to use data as a driver of strategic decisions. Champion a culture where data is trusted, accessible, and actionable. Salesforces and Systems Management

Serve as the organization's internal Salesforce expert. Troubleshoot system issues and guide solution development. Lead database enhancements in partnership with department leaders. Translate program needs into smart system architecture. Manage external consultants and vendors responsible for complex builds. Project and Change Management

Lead cross-functional data projects from concept through execution. Ensure timelines, deliverables, and adoption stay on track. Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes. Team Leadership and Capacity Building

Lead, coach, and develop data staff. Provide high-quality training that builds confidence across teams. Create structures that support both accountability and growth Research, Evaluation, and Insight

Partner closely with researchers to translate findings into operational improvements. Strengthen evaluation practices that demonstrate organizational impact. Elevate dashboards and reporting that guide programmatic choices. What You Bring

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, data management, or a related field Minimum of two (2) years of Salesforce administration experience, including:

Custom objects and relationships Formula fields and Flow automations Lightning page layouts and intermediate system configurations

Minimum of two (2) years of people management experience, including staff supervision and team development Strong understanding of data administration, governance, and reporting best practices Experience developing policies and procedures related to data quality, security, and compliance Ability to synthesize complex technical information and communicate clearly to non-technical audiences Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred

Experience in nonprofit, education, or social service organizations Salesforce Administrator Certification Experience with Salesforce NPSP and Program Management Module (PMM) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization The Ideal Candidate
