to lead and evolve our HR function across all locations at
our corporate office in the Charlotte, NC area.
This is a senior leadership role ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong compliance background, a people-first mindset, and a deep understanding of HR best practices, especially in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
About the Role:
The HR Director will oversee the organization's HR operations, guiding areas such as employee relations, regulatory compliance, benefits administration, and leave management. This position requires a skilled communicator and problem-solver who enjoys mentoring others, leading changes, and aligning HR initiatives with overall business goals. As a member of the Executive Team, the HR Director will also help shape company culture, values, and long-range planning. While
automotive experience is preferred , this role is open to HR professionals with leadership experience in
retail, hospitality, manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, or other multi-site, high-employee-count environments
who understand how to support fast-paced operations, compliance, recruiting, and employee relations at scale.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Provide executive-level input on organizational planning, change initiatives, and resource allocation. Serve as a key advisor to senior management on workforce strategies and risk mitigation. Champion the company's mission, vision, and values through effective HR programs and leadership.
Human Resources Operations Oversight: Lead and manage multi-state HR functions, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Design and implement policies and procedures that promote consistency, legal compliance, and operational efficiency. Monitor and manage the performance of HR systems (HRIS), data analytics, and benefits programs. Oversee recruitment lifecycle processes, onboarding, and retention efforts. Manage the company's retirement plans and collaborate with outside consultants and auditors as needed.
People Development and Training: Mentor and support HR staff, providing leadership in day-to-day operations and development planning. Develop and deliver training initiatives on employment law, management best practices, and workplace policy adherence. Support managers in addressing complex employee relations issues and performance challenges.
Cross-Functional Engagement: Participate in internal committees, working groups, and external partnerships as appropriate. Represent the organization's HR interests across business units and in executive forums.
Qualifications: Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred. SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar HR certification required if no degree. JD or strong background in employment law is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR or employment law experience, including prior leadership responsibilities. Proven experience working with HRIS platforms and multi-state employment compliance preferred. Automotive industry experience is preferred but not required.
Skills & Competencies Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment laws. Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional leadership team.
