Financial Analyst – ILS (Insurance-Linked Securities) – Job Description
About the Firm
The firm is an investment management organization actively expanding into the reinsurance and alternative risk space through Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS) and sidecar reinsurance strategies. It combines institutional investment discipline with reinsurance market expertise to generate uncorrelated returns and scalable growth opportunities.
The firm is seeking a Financial Analyst with a foundation in finance, analytics, and capital markets to support the development of its ILS and reinsurance platform. This role offers exposure to both traditional investment processes and reinsurance structuring, providing an opportunity to help shape a growing segment of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Support the structuring, pricing, and evaluation of ILS investments, including reinsurance sidecars and collateralized reinsurance transactions.
Assist in the preparation of investor presentations and marketing materials.
Build and maintain financial models to analyze risk‑adjusted returns, loss scenarios, and portfolio performance across reinsurance‑linked investments.
Assist in transaction execution, including due diligence, documentation review, data validation, and investor reporting, working closely with internal and external partners.
Monitor developments in the reinsurance and ILS markets, including pricing trends, catastrophe activity, and capital inflows/outflows.
Support ongoing management of active investments, including performance tracking, exposure analysis, and risk reporting.
Partner with underwriting, actuarial, and legal teams, as well as external service providers, to support deal execution and operational setup.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
Experience:
1–5 years of experience in investment analysis, capital markets, reinsurance, or ILS.
Exposure to reinsurance structures or catastrophe modeling preferred.
Experience at a hedge fund, investment manager, reinsurer, or broker.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel and financial modeling capability.
Working knowledge of VBA.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and quantitative mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity.
Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
Ability to support new product development.
Ability to review and understand financial management information.
