This role will be based in our Hamilton Square, NJ or West Hartford, CT office. We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so.

Responsibilities The
Underwriting Analyst
position is ideal for a recent graduate or an early career professional who wants to grow their career in the stop loss field. The role offers robust training to ensure you’re well prepared to advance upward to Senior Analyst and then Underwriter. Your role is critical to the business as you set up new and renewal prospects for the Underwriters, as well as performing all other necessary functions required to underwrite the prospect and/or renewal. You’ll be part of a small but high‑performing team of supportive colleagues who value teamwork and collaboration.

We’ll count on you to:
Knowledge of Stop Loss market and associated terms
Review RFP’s and underwriting files to ensure the data is complete and accurate
Input employer stop loss characteristics such as benefits, census, large claim information and aggregate claim assessment into David Young system
Maintain quote qualifications and competitive rates
Ability to manage, maintain and handle assignments as warranted
Accurately document files
Qualifications What you need to have:
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Strong mathematical background
Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers
Ability to be productive independently, yet work in a team environment
Strong attention to detail, organizational, planning, and time management skills
Creativity and problem‑solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
What makes you stand out:
Prior Stop Loss experience
Comprehensive knowledge of available employer Stop Loss products, including contract terms and RFP data interpretation
Experience and knowledge of David Young Underwriting System
Ability to handle large volume of work efficiently and correctly with limited errors

Base Salary Pay Range: $50,000 to $60,000

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
