Title Senior IT Business Analyst
Location New Orleans, LA; The Woodlands, TX; West Monroe, LA
Schedule Candidates must be willing to work onsite in the office on the following schedule.
Candidate Overview ComTec is looking for a Senior IT Business Analyst with full software life cycle experience including requirements gathering, design, testing, and training. The candidate must be able to execute workshops to gather, refine, and estimate user stories, conduct GAP analysis, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should exhibit a high sense of urgency, be highly organized, and keep meticulous records.
Responsibilities
Lead business requirements gathering workshops and document business requirements.
Develop and document user stories, to-be process flows and collaborate with the development team to design solutions that meet business requirements.
Develop wireframes or prototypes based on business input to visualize concepts and produce requirements for development.
Document use cases, business/system/functional requirements, requirements traceability matrix, and test cases.
Create process flowcharts, diagrams, drawings, and other related documentation, including technical workflows using different modelling techniques.
Conduct business process/systems analysis through user story workshops.
Analyze current business processes and document AS-IS business process flows.
Work with business stakeholders in developing TO-BE business process flows.
Own functional specifications and serve as a functional expert with a deep understanding of business needs on product capabilities by defining business requirements, performing quality assurance, and defining reporting and alerting requirements.
Participate in user requirement sessions to identify opportunities for process improvement and technical solutions.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Assist in developing business cases, project plans, and estimates.
Assist in the software design, working with technical experts and business stakeholders to iron out the details.
Create test plans by incorporating business process flows and non‑functional requirements.
Review system cases prepared by the testing team.
Create and execute system test cases.
Design test cases for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by considering all possible scenarios.
Assist in testing, provide user acceptance criteria, and work with developers and testers to ensure all criteria are met.
Work closely with the business team as part of UAT testing.
Develop and maintain documentation related to system functions and usage.
Requirements
8+ years of experience working as an IT business analyst.
5+ years' experience with elicitation and documentation of business and functional requirements.
Good understanding of all stages of Waterfall methodology (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment).
Understanding and experience in IT project management methodologies, requirements management, quality assurance, and IT processes.
Experience developing test plans and manual testing.
Good experience with design and implementation of technical environments using various technologies and languages.
Experience developing AS-IS and TO‑BE business process flows.
In‑depth knowledge of business re‑engineering principles and processes, and the ability to identify, capture, and translate business requirements.
Basic programming language knowledge and understanding of databases.
Strong customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation, facilitation, and coordination skills.
