Compliance Specialist – Mortgage Licensing
Contract | 6 Months Target Start: March 2 Role Overview
The Compliance Specialist will support high-volume onboarding of Loan Officers with a focus on mortgage licensing. This role requires hands-on experience with mortgage licensing, strong proficiency in NMLS, and the ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume workload in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities
Process new mortgage license applications for Loan Officers Support onboarding groups of 15–50 Loan Officers every two weeks, resulting in high-volume licensing activity Execute and track licensing actions within NMLS and internal systems Assist with preparation for Continuing Education (CE) and upcoming license renewal cycles Partner cross-functionally with multiple internal teams throughout onboarding Provide guidance to Loan Officers on licensing requirements (no internal staff training) Required Skills & Experience (Must-Have)
Mortgage licensing experience
(mortgage-specific experience required; other licensing backgrounds not accepted) Advanced proficiency with NMLS , including independent execution of licensing actions Proven ability to manage
high-volume workloads
with shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with
Airtable
for tracking and workflow visibility DocuSign
experience for licensing documentation Google Sheets (reporting) Google Drive (document management) Familiarity with Excel and CSV files (NMLS reporting exports) Tools & Systems
NMLS
(primary system) Airtable (internal tracking) DocuSign (documentation) Google Workspace (primary productivity suite) Ability to understand the regulatory framework and industry practices applicable to title insurance, mortgage licensing or other state-licensed entities Soft Skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail Comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously Collaborative and team-oriented Self-directed with the ability to work independently Work Structure
Primarily internal-facing role No interaction with external licensing agencies
