Our commitment to maintaining high standards and fostering long-term client relationships makes us a leader in the industry, and you will take pride in being part of a company that shapes communities and enhances lives through quality construction.Job Summary:In this key role, you will manage estimating and preconstruction activities by serving as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers. You will lead the overall preconstruction process, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on schedule, while mentoring and supervising a team of estimators and engineers.Responsibilities: Interface with clients, architects, and engineers, managing the preconstruction process and estimating schedule. Review plans and specifications with confidence, performing constructability reviews and providing insightful comments. Prepare detailed scopes of work for all construction trades, including subcontractor budgets and bids. Conduct accurate quantity take-offs and analyze quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for completeness. Prepare comprehensive bid leveling sheets and project estimates, resolving scope gaps and coordinating trade packages. Communicate effectively with architects and consultants to clarify scopes, materials, and resolve conflicts. Lead project-specific teams in developing budgets and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) bids, presenting to clients and addressing any inquiries. Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to gain competitive advantages. Identify value engineering opportunities to present to clients and architects. Mentor and supervise junior estimators, providing continuous feedback and promoting professional development.Qualifications: 7+ years of experience at a general contractor, construction manager, or related occupation, with a preference for multi-family and institutional building experience. A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, OneNote, Onscreen Takeoff (OST), and Bluebeam; experience with estimating software, preferably DESTINI, is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.Interested in hearing more?
