Job Description The Role: As a Senior Salesforce Reliability Engineer at General Motors, you will be a vital member of an agile team committed to building and delivering cutting-edge technology solutions on the Force.com platform. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and reliability of our Salesforce environments that underpin essential business operations throughout the organization. As a key contributor to technology, you will design and implement efficient CI/CD pipelines, automate deployment processes, and enhance system observability, ensuring optimal performance across complex Salesforce ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce administration, DevOps, and cloud observability, with a knack for troubleshooting and resolving incidents in dynamic environments while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role requires a problem solver and collaborative spirit who can engage effectively with development, infrastructure, and support teams to deliver resilient and efficient Salesforce solutions that embody GM's aspiration for innovation, reliability, and customer satisfaction. What You Will Do: Collaborate in a fast-paced environment with business, technology, and platform teams to ensure Salesforce systems are reliable, performant, and scalable.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents in Salesforce and integrated systems, guaranteeing minimal downtime and prompt communication with stakeholders.

Maintain, automate, and enhance CI/CD pipelines utilizing Copado and other DevOps tools.

Analyze and address code conflicts, reviewing Apex classes, triggers, and metadata deployments for smooth, error-free releases.

Utilize SOQL and Salesforce Developer Console for debugging, performance optimization, and data validation.

Manage and optimize user permissions, profiles, roles, and personas to ensure secure and compliant access control.

Create and sustain monitoring and observability dashboards focusing on proactive alerting and overall system reliability.

Support incident response, conduct root cause analyses, and implement long-term corrective actions.

Integrate Salesforce with Event Hub and other enterprise systems to ensure seamless event-driven communication.

Work with MuleSoft integration teams to design, test, and monitor data flows across systems.

Analyze logs, telemetry, and metrics to identify patterns and discover opportunities for automation or optimization.

Partner with engineering and business teams to promote reliability engineering best practices, capacity planning, and system performance tuning.

Document procedures, incident resolutions, and system runbooks to foster knowledge sharing and consistency.

Keep current with Salesforce platform releases, observability frameworks, and evolving reliability engineering practices.

Your skills and abilities (Required Qualifications): 5+ years of experience supporting and engineering Salesforce platforms with a spotlight on reliability, performance, and automation.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Strong grasp of Salesforce architecture, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Communities, and the Force.com platform.

Proficiency in SOQL, Apex, and Salesforce metadata management.

Hands-on experience with Copado or equivalent CI/CD and DevOps tools.

Proven ability to troubleshoot, triage, and resolve incidents under pressure in a vibrant production environment.

Familiarity with Event Hub, MuleSoft, and integration troubleshooting.

Experience with monitoring tools such as Mulesoft Logs and Datadog to oversee system health and performance.

Strong understanding of Salesforce security models, including profiles, permission sets, and role hierarchies.

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with a proactive, ownership-driven approach.

What will give you a competitive edge (Preferred Qualifications): Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Platform Developer I/II, DevOps Center Specialist, or Copado Certified Developer.

Experience with REST/SOAP Web Services, API integration, and asynchronous processing.

Exposure to AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments.

Familiarity with SQL, data modeling, and system monitoring frameworks.

Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments with an automation-first mindset.

Strong observational and SRE mindset - dedicated to continually improving monitoring, reliability, and incident response processes.

Excellent time management, prioritization, and leadership skills with the adaptability to meet changing business needs.

This position is classified as hybrid. The selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week. This job may include relocation benefits.
