
Summary/objective
The Service Writer is responsible for ascertaining problems and services requested, maintaining customer rapport and records. This position requires someone who is personable and has excellent communication skills, as they will act as a liaison between the customers and the service department.

Open work orders and maintain until closed and/or invoiced.
Handles Repair Order charges, warranty validation & claims coverages including computation of charges, submission, and follow-up.
Assist in handling customer complaints and concerns.
Handles service department filing and records.
Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work orders.
Includes tracking repairs and their causes, scheduling technicians, and processing warranties.
Maintains supplies and prepares replacement orders.
Completes other duties assigned.
Competencies
Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and superior communication and customer service skills
Experience working in a service department a plus
Ability to write and work on routine reports and correspondence
Ability to negotiate customer complaints to a satisfactory resolution
Good computer skills in Excel and Google Docs
Good organizational skills
Assertive and confident communication skills
Required education and experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent
