Role Overview The Community Engagement and Prevention Education Coordinator will represent Claire’s Community at events and facilitate educational programs. They will work with staff and board members to develop and implement initiatives that increase visibility, connection, and collaboration in the broader community.
The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with at least one year of experience in external relations and/or facilitating.
Community Outreach, Engagement, & External Relations (60%)
Maintain communication and outreach efforts to build partnerships with schools, youth organizations, and community groups.
Organize, plan, and market outreach events.
Assist with fundraising and donor appreciation events.
Develop and lead outreach efforts to nurture new and existing relationships with collaborative partners, organizations, and individuals.
Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences (often outside the 5-day workweek) to raise awareness of its programs.
Collaborate with the Executive Director on the creation of the annual outreach budget or on follow‑through activities.
Collaborate with the Digital Content Coordinator to provide written content and photos for brochures and other marketing/communications materials.
Work with the Operations and Communications Coordinator to recruit, train, and support volunteers assisting with outreach efforts and fundraising events.
Organize communication and information flow among Claire’s Community stakeholders: board members, leadership, staff, funders, volunteers, and other community members.
Education and Facilitation (40%)
Facilitate age‑appropriate relationship violence prevention programs in schools or group settings, including Have a HEART, Safe Dates, and Live Respect for 7th and 9th graders.
Co‑facilitate Parents Matter! and the Askable Adult Campaign, as well as other sessions for parents, adults, and caregivers.
Recruit, train, and support coaches implementing Coaching Boys Into Men.
Deliver engaging, research‑based, trauma‑informed educational programs that resonate with diverse audiences.
Create and maintain a clear, consistent communication plan with classroom teachers and school administrators.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify and develop new opportunities for expanding prevention education.
Assist with program evaluation and documentation efforts to ensure continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma (or GED equivalent) and relevant experience
Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a professional office setting that required planning, organizing, and meeting deadlines as shown in the application materials.
Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by interview and application materials.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, as evidenced by work experience and application materials.
Experience working with, or comfortable learning, a variety of systems and applications (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office suite, Canva, website management tools, and database management software, such as Little Green Light) as evidenced by training or work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience collaborating and communicating with individuals from varying cultures, backgrounds, and levels of authority.
Outreach or community engagement experience, motivation, and ability to connect with and educate individuals and groups.
Written communications and social media experience.
Background in education, social work, public health, or related field.
Experience in external relations, community engagement, or a related field.
Experience working with youth, families, and/or schools.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage several projects simultaneously within tight timelines.
Experience with Little Green Light CRM, QuickBooks Timesheets, Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant software applications.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
Leadership skills or training
Ability to adapt, improvise, and communicate effectively during stressful situations (events)
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships, working effectively to support a diverse, multicultural, gender‑inclusive environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
