Job Summary The position will be domiciled in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area, reporting to the Houston office. As part of this role, the Sales Manager is responsible for renewing, retaining, and growing volumes across all business segments within the assigned territory and/or product line.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Increases the value of current portfolio of customers via upselling and cross selling and attracts new customers.
Arranges business interactions (e.g., meetings, calls) with current and prospective clients, to promote the company’s services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
Discovers and understands the needs and requirements of the customers in own portfolio, puts in place an account plan according to the account potential, strategic value, and specific needs.
Conducts research to identify new markets and customer needs. Identifies new business opportunities & qualifies opportunities.
Develops a thorough understanding of the market, customers, and industry. Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
Builds and presents compelling proposals addressing customers and prospects’ needs and requests, in line with the company’s procedures and pricing guidelines.
Negotiates and closes contracts.
Properly and timely records the sales activity in the company’s systems.
Ensures a healthy sales pipeline, to support long‑term sustainable growth.
Builds accurate sales forecasts and reports. Adjusts the sales activities based on the status of the sales pipeline, the sales target, and the market indicators.
Builds and strengthens long‑term relationships with existing and new customers.
Positions the company as a preferred transport partner.
Aligns sales efforts with the commercial strategy through close collaboration with Trade, Marketing and Customer Service.
Performs other duties, as necessary.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of selling transportation services (preferably ocean transportation)
Strong knowledge of the local market as well as industry trends
Strong knowledge of commercial and financial jargon of international trade
Knowledge of CRM software
Valid driver's license and favorable driving record.
