Proof of the Pudding offers fine-quality concessions and catering for meetings, exhibit hall booths, conventions, and special events. Georgia International Convention Center includes a 9,800 sq. ft. state-of-the-art culinary arts center and Georgia's largest ballroom at 40,000 sq. ft.

Proof of the Pudding is seeking an additional Catering Sales Manager (CSM) to provide support to the Proof of the Pudding Sales Team. The CSM is a management position designed to enhance and amplify venue sales, event creativity & design, and foster new and existing client relationships. The ideal applicant is highly motivated, driven to exceed their goals, professional in demeanor, and has a passion for large, upscale events. The job often involves attending industry and networking events, telemarketing, advertising and contacting the competitions client base.

Georgia International Conference Center’s proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport makes it a convenient and demanding location for executive conferences, weddings, and high-profile events. As Georgia’s second largest convention center, every day brings new opportunities to create, design, and execute memorable events for a variety of guests.

Responsibilities Duties may include but are not limited to:

Experience with prospecting, selling and negotiating skills

Obtaining New Clients and fostering relationships into events and business

Coordinating walk-throughs with clients to sell the space and products

Maintaining existing client relationships through Delphi database - follow-up calls, emails, notes and bi-monthly sales calls/drops to assigned venues

Create personalized proposals/sample menus based on clients’ needs; create contracts, purchase orders & vendor invoices in a timely fashion; create & distribute floor plans with venue manager for clients and Operations team review

Consistent follow-up with clients to increase closing percentage

Inter-departmental communication within the Operations, Sales & Culinary teams for specific events through a detailed Banquet Event Order & kitchen sheet; must communicate effectively on any pop-ups and last minute event updates

Attend all booked events to greet the client and ensure the event details are executed accordingly until the food is presented; introduction made to the event captain to meet the client to run the event until close

Ensure the billing procedures are followed and the event is closed out properly in Delphi.

Attend networking events; HSMAI, GAMPI, ACVB, ISES, SHRM, GSAE, ECEP

Keep events organized and updated in BEO software and email communications internally and externally to clients

Coordinate décor needs, linen orders, specialty items with operations team internally and upsell options to clients

Continuously expand your knowledge of Food & Beverage and catering trends to bring creativity and innovation to the F&B program

Performs other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Ability to office from GICC located in College Park, GA.

Must have 2+ years of experience in catering or hospitality sales

Must have Strong Food and Beverage and Sales background – Experience coordinating and managing large scale events is preferred

Excellent listening skills, creative with menu development, excellent customer service to go above and beyond clients’ needs

Experience with Delphi is a plus

Must be professional in demeanor and personable

Work Environment This position is 70% in office work; computer work in an office setting, speaking to clients on the phone, inter-departmental meetings, and assisting with pre-event logistics as needed. 30% of this role can be attending events, hosting client walk throughs, and assisting with event set up and clean up.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling within GICC’S large campus

Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items

At times there will be prolonged times of sitting and computer usage.

Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 25 lbs.

Position Salary & Benefits

This is considered a fall-time position with a base salary, plus competitive commission structure
