12-Bed Emergency Department Executive Summary We are seeking a strategic and clinical leader to serve as the

Director of Emergency Services . This role oversees a 12-bed Emergency Department dedicated to providing high‑acuity care to critically ill adult patients. The Director is responsible for the overall operational excellence, clinical direction, and strategic growth of the department, ensuring all care aligns with the highest standards of nursing practice and organizational values. Key Responsibilities Operational & Financial Leadership Departmental Operations:

Direct and evaluate daily operations, including patient care delivery, IT integration, and service level optimization. Fiscal Accountability:

Formulate, monitor, and evaluate the departmental budget; ensure efficient operations within allocated funding and resource optimization. Quality & Compliance:

Lead performance improvement activities and coordinate internal/external audits to ensure rigorous quality control. Collaboration:

Partner with the CNO, COO, and medical staff to interpret hospital policies and solve complex clinical or operational challenges. Staff Development & Talent Management Workforce Planning:

Manage all staffing activities, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, and performance evaluations. Clinical Mentorship:

Create an environment that fosters professional growth and integrates evidence‑based practices into clinical protocols. Education Initiatives:

Lead staff development and continuing education initiatives to ensure the team remains at the forefront of emergency nursing standards. Minimum Qualifications Experience & Leadership (Must-Haves) Emergency Leadership:

2–3 years of direct leadership experience specifically within Emergency Services. Operational Expertise:

Proven experience in

Departmental Operations , including budget formulation and fiscal management. Educational Leadership:

Demonstrated experience in

staff development

and leading

continuing education initiatives . Education & License License:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to work in the state of

Kentucky . Education:

Master’s degree preferred; applicable work experience may be used in lieu of degree. Certifications BLS:

Required within one month of hire. ACLS:

Required within six months of hire. PALS:
