PROSPECT MOLD is hiring: Tooling Designer in Cuyahoga Falls

Prospect's Tool Designer is responsible for the completion of designs based on any flowed down and/or supplied information. All aspects of the design from the initial layout and 3D tool concept through final model will be the responsibility of the Tool Designer. This includes all subsequent releases to manufacturing. The Tool Designer must be conscious regarding documenting critical aspects of the design projects as well as documentation given or received by customers or others within the department. All Designs will be subject to time and deadline pressures with the majority of time spent working at a CAD workstation. This is an hourly position with availability of overtime.

DUTIES:

• Complete the design following the instructions/direction from VP of Eng, the Eng. Project manager or from a concept layout provided.
• Review all customer standards, SOW, specs to ensure that the final design is in conjunction with all customer specifics.
• Work through the completion of the design project.
• Review all designs for D.F.M.A.
• Generate 3D and 2D complete designs according to department standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 5 years’ Experience in 3D or 2D Designing of Plastic Injection Molds, Dies, Aerospace tooling or Housewares tooling.
• Basic Machining Skills and Manufacturing understanding is highly desirable.
• NX, Solidworks, CATIA or other 3D modeling experience is required.
• Microsoft office and general Excel skills
• Enjoy working in a team environment, interpersonal skills.
