POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Design Manager, Designer II will design, develop, and analyze new and existing hydraulic products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and update for new and existing hydraulic products

Assign new part numbers in the Microsoft access program

Generate quote BOM (Bill of Material) and necessary drawings for QR

Generate necessary drawings for new product in a CAD system

Process Change Requests; make necessary changes to drawings, BOM, etc. and write ECN

Work with Quality Assurance and Materials on development of substitute materials

Update and maintain JARP Industries engineering specifications and standards

MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Troubleshoot and provide assistance on the production floor as needed

Assist customers on the phone as necessary

Customer visits as required

Help update and maintain customer files

Help maintain the drawing files

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Substitutes for the Engineering department in the absence of the Manager / Director of Engineering as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (2) Two-year associate/technical degree in mechanical design with 5-10 years of experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: None

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

5-10 years of experience in a design capacity. Experience working with hydraulics is a plus.

Knowledge in stress and analysis

Familiar with various machining processes

Able to operate a CAD system

Good computer skills
