Job Description and Duties Under the close supervision of the Tax Administrator I, the Tax Compliance Representative (TCR) in the Tax Processing and Accounting Divisions (TPAD), Account Management Group (AMG) within the Account Management Section (AMS), performs a mixture of routine to more complex, difficult, and sensitive case assignments regarding the School Employees Fund (SEF), the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), and other employer accounts. The TCR performs duties of average difficulty in the establishment and maintenance of employer accounts. These duties include the more sensitive tax cases and status determinations involving in-depth account analysis, and vertical Unity of Enterprise (VUE) determinations.

The TCR uses good judgment and knowledge of the California Unemployment Insurance Code (CUIC) and complies with Departmental regulations, rules, policies, and procedures resolving issues identified on SEF accounts, IHSS accounts, and employer accounts (registrations, account status changes, adjustments, reconciliation of accounts, returns, and correspondence, etc.). As proficiency increases, the TCR provides training for new and less-experienced staff, acts in a lead capacity for training, and provides technical assistance to staff on complex work items. In addition, the TCR reviews the work of staff in training and provides feedback to the employee and supervisor.
