We are seeking a Designer III to join our Chicago Studio. A Designer III The Designer III is responsible for leading and managing the interior design projects from conceptualization to completion. This role requires a high level of creativity, technical expertise, and project management skills. The Designer III will collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative and aesthetically pleasing interior designs that meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. Project size differentiates this position and the Sr. Designer.plays a pivotal role in the realization of architectural projects from ideation to completion. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, design proficiency, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The Technical Designer III is responsible for translating conceptual designs into detailed documents, ensuring precision, functionality, and compliance with relevant building codes and regulations. The salary range is $80-95k, equity, and a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life and disability, 401k, and paid time off. This position is required to be in the office 2-3 days per week so we are looking for candidates who a) are in the greater Chicago area b) authorized to work in the US without sponsorship and c) not through a third party. Primary Responsibilities

Project Leadership

Take a leadership role in interior design projects, overseeing the entire design process. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and clients, to ensure seamless project execution. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budget constraints are met.

Conceptualization and Design Development:

Develop innovative and creative design concepts that align with client requirements and project goals. Produce detailed design drawings, mood boards, and presentations to effectively communicate design ideas. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to integrate cutting‑edge elements into designs.

Space Planning and Layout:

Conduct thorough space analysis and planning to optimize functionality and aesthetics. Create comprehensive space plans, ensuring efficient use of available space and adherence to building codes and regulations.

Material and Furniture Selection:

Source and select appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the design concept and meet project requirements. Establish relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials and furnishings.

Client Interaction:

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and feedback throughout the design process. Conduct presentations to clients, effectively communicating design concepts and modifications.

Budget Management:

Collaborate with team leaders to develop and manage project budgets. Monitor costs, negotiate with vendors, and make cost‑effective decisions without compromising design quality.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with team members, architects, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to design. Mentor and guide less experienced designers, providing support and fostering their professional development.

Quality Control:

Conduct regular site visits to ensure design implementation aligns with the approved plans and quality standards. Address any issues or challenges that may arise during the construction or installation phase.

Required Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program At least 6+ years of experience as an Interior Designer, with a focus on leading and managing projects. Software Proficiency:

AutoCad / Revit or other BIM software, Vectorworks preferred, but not required Sketchup or other 3D modeling software, Vectorworks preferred, but not required Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign and Photoshop Microsoft Office Suite – Excel and Word Google Sheets and Docs

Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Able to work collaboratively in a team and lead by example. Lives the geniant values.
