
Seeking a Loan Closer to join a growing team in New York! The Loan Closer will be responsible for coordinating and finalizing the closing of loans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role involves working closely with loan officers, underwriters, attorneys, title companies, and customers to prepare accurate and timely closing documentation. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of loan closing procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the lending team is updated throughout the closing process
Schedule and coordinate closings with closing agent, borrower and all other respective parties
Closely work with Closing Attorney and ensure that mortgage loan closing package is prepared
Confirm that compliance department has issued final approval before sending documents to the closing agent
Review file for completion and quality to ensure all conditions have been met and file is clear to close pre closing conditions and all convents on credit offering approval
Prepare preliminary closing statement and documents for completion by closing agent for review and approval by the lender
Review Insurance coverage and order flood determination
Review of funding conditions for disbursement authorizationAfter closing, review original executed package to ensure required documents are received and are properly executed
REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of recent commercial loan Closing and banking experience required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree preferred
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from directors, managers, clients (both internal and external) and the general public; excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of lending regulations (e.g., RESPA, TRID, HMDA, etc.).
Proficient in loan processing/closing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
