Business Insights Analyst II
Salt Lake City, Utah | Contract-to-Hire | $45-50 hourly (conversion salary $90-95k)
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Insights Analyst II to join our Data Apps team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in SQL, Python, R, and business intelligence tools to deliver actionable insights and drive data‑informed decision‑making. You will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, creating visualizations, and presenting findings to stakeholders, helping business units optimize performance. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of business processes, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
Conduct end-to-end analysis of business opportunities and develop comprehensive reports with minimal supervision.
Collaborate with business units to provide analytics support and act as a trusted business intelligence consultant.
Track and enhance key performance indicators and monthly reporting processes.
Implement improvements to reporting processes through automation and integration.
Work with data engineering and warehousing teams to support data modeling and analysis requirements.
Guide the development of BI dashboards and reports using DOMO, Power BI, Azure SQL, or similar tools.
Produce actionable insights to support Category and Sales teams.
Mentor and train junior analysts in data systems, processes, and visualization best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related quantitative discipline.
5+ years of experience working with large, complex datasets to produce insights and reports.
Proficiency in creating visualizations using
Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
Strong knowledge of
SQL, Python, R, or other analytical languages.
Familiarity with
ETL processes or data engineering
tasks preferred.
Experience with cloud platforms such as
Snowflake, Azure, or similar
preferred.
Bonus Skills
Previous experience in
Consumer-Packaged Goods, Food & Beverage, or Retail industries.
Advanced data modeling, automation, or integration experience.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
