Content Producer

Joby Aviation, Santa Cruz, California, us, 95061

Save Job

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.

Overview Joby Aviation is redefining mobility through electric flight—and telling one of the most exciting technology stories of our time. We are building something that has never existed before, and we’re looking for a Content Producer who is excited to help tell that story from the inside.

This is a junior-level, hands‑on creative role for someone early in their career who has a deep love for storytelling, a curiosity about aviation and engineering, and a desire to grow alongside a fast‑moving team during a pivotal moment in Joby’s journey.

You will be responsible for end‑to‑end content creation: capturing, editing, and finishing photo, video, and audio content across social, brand, communications, employer brand, and podcast channels. This is a great opportunity to have front‑row access to flight testing, manufacturing, and the people building the future of transportation.

This hire will play a central role in shaping how our stories are told—owning post‑production while also being a primary on‑site shooter and audio producer.

Reporting to the Senior Content Manager, you will work closely with in‑house creatives and cross‑functional partners, learning how to build a scalable, high‑quality content operation as Joby’s storytelling footprint grows significantly.

Responsibilities

Capture high-quality photo and video content across a wide range of environments.

Operate comfortably as a one‑person production unit when needed. We’re looking for a true run‑and‑gun creative who is also comfortable thinking ahead about production planning and scheduling.

Support both planned shoots and real‑time opportunities as they arise — we move quickly, and flexibility is key.

Capture footage and audio intentionally, with a clear understanding of how content will be edited and used downstream. Ability to think about platform‑specific formats and audiences is important.

Edit high-quality video content across a variety of formats.

Build clean, well‑organized timelines and maintain a reliable, repeatable post‑production workflow.

Comfortable creating light motion graphics in After Effects.

Record, edit, and finish podcast and audio‑based content using Adobe Audition.

Manage end‑to‑end podcast production.

Proactively seek out human stories, technical milestones, and cultural moments across Joby’s facilities.

Interview engineers, technicians, pilots, and employees to capture authentic perspectives — comfort working with people is essential.

Translate complex technical work into clear, compelling, and accessible narratives.

Contribute to scripting, storyboards, and story development for both video and podcast content.

Partner closely with the Senior Content Manager and Creative Director on planning, creative direction, and prioritization.

Collaborate daily with in‑house videographers, photographers, and freelance partners.

Organize and maintain media libraries, naming conventions, version control, and backups.

Help build scalable video and audio production workflows as output grows.

Required
