Opportunity The A/V Estimator & Designer is responsible for ensuring products and resources are properly identified and accounted for in our projects as they progress from estimation, proposal creation, engineering, and the completion of design documentation. This role is essential to aligning the expectations of our clients, internal teams, and industry partners in the areas of performance, aesthetics, and budget at project inception.

Primary duties include interpreting project scope and objectives; coordinating with sales, design, and external parties; identifying labor requirements; creating accurate project proposals and change orders; and designing and documenting solutions for clients, external builders, and our installation & service teams.

Success in this role demands the individual to acquire and continually hone their industry knowledge and technical skills needed to specify and design solutions that meet project objectives. Effective communication, high attention to detail, a customer service mindset, and the ability to work efficiently while meeting company expectations for accuracy, productivity and timeliness are essential for success in the role.

Required Qualifications

No prior residential technology experience necessary. Training is provided.

Minimum 1 year of AutoCAD experience, or recent AutoCAD courses certificate.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Quick study, able to enhance knowledge & skills pertaining to residential low voltage & electrical systems.

Time management skills to prioritize and manage tasks to meet deadlines within allotted time frames.

Resourceful problem solver. Able to research issues and find solutions with minimal guidance.

Ability to understand instruction manuals, specifications, schedules, codes, diagrams, schematics, architectural plans and other documentation.

Computer proficiency. Able to effectively utilize the company’s internal software systems. Proficient with standard business use of software including email, calendars, spreadsheet creation and manipulation, word processing, internet, etc.

Maintaining confidentiality of client and company information.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

Prior experience with residential construction, low voltage & electrical systems: Audio/Video, Control Systems, Shading, Lighting Control, Security, Surveillance, Access Control, Networking, Smart Home/Home Automation etc.

Customer Service Experience

Custom residential construction familiarity.

Drafting skills and ability to read architectural plans.

Job Type Full‑time, W‑2

Pay $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
