Advocacy, Community, and Education , FTBOU exists to disrupt the narrative and reimagine survivorship for Black and Brown women.

Making spACE —which stands for
Advocacy, Community, and Education —we provide culturally relevant resources, safe spaces, and storytelling platforms that honor lived experiences and address the unique challenges faced by Women of Color in the breast cancer community. From peer support and wellness workshops to national advocacy campaigns and leadership development, FTBOU is building a bold, movement where no woman walks alone.
Whether newly diagnosed, in active treatment, living with metastatic disease, or thriving in survivorship, every Baddie deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.
Role Overview The Volunteer Graphic Designer will support the organization by creating visually engaging, on‑brand assets across digital and print platforms. This role works under the guidance of the Creative Director and collaborates with members of the operations, communications, and program teams. This is an ideal opportunity for a designer who wants to use their skills for impact, gain nonprofit experience, and contribute to meaningful community‑driven work.
Key Responsibilities
Designing social media graphics, digital flyers, and promotional assets
Supporting event‑related design needs, including BaddieCon graphics, schedules, signage, and branded materials
Assisting with email graphics, website visuals, and downloadable resources
Updating or adapting existing templates to align with campaign needs
Ensuring all designs follow FTBOU brand guidelines and visual identity
Collaborating with the Creative Director to execute creative concepts and timelines
Making revisions based on feedback and deadlines
Preferred Skills & Experience
Proficiency in design tools such as
Canva
Adobe Photoshop
(Bonus Illustrator, InDesign, or similar tools)
A strong eye for layout, color, typography, and visual storytelling
Experience creating graphics for social media and digital platforms
Ability to work within brand guidelines while still bringing creative ideas
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Clear communication and openness to feedback
Interest in nonprofit, advocacy, or community‑centered work
Time Commitment
Flexible and project‑based
Estimated 2–5 hours per week, with increased support around major campaigns or events (e.g., Breast Cancer BaddieCon 2026)
