Sales Executive
Nova EnviroLabs, a newly launched division of Nova Analytic Labs, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional to build and scale our PFAS testing services. While Nova Analytic Labs has established itself as a leader in cannabis and hemp compliance testing, Nova EnviroLabs expands our capabilities into the environmental sector, providing advanced analysis of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) for municipalities, industrial facilities, environmental consultants, and remediation teams. Nova Analytic Labs is a state-accredited testing laboratory headquartered in Portland, Maine. Since its inception, Nova has specialized in providing compliance and R&D analytical services to the cannabis and hemp sectors, ensuring consumer safety and regulatory alignment. Recognizing the urgent public health need and growing regulatory pressure around PFAS contamination, Nova EnviroLabs was formed to lead our environmental testing efforts. Nova's mission across both divisions remains constant: leverage advanced instrumentation, scientific precision, and regulatory expertise to protect public and environmental health. This position is responsible for generating new PFAS testing business while helping define our market positioning and sales process in this emerging vertical. Your primary role will be to develop client relationships with environmental engineering firms, government agencies, industrial facilities, and water utilities seeking PFAS analysis. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help shape Nova EnviroLabs' go-to-market approach and build a new line of business within a proven, science-first organization. Responsibilities and duties include: Collaborate with Sales Leadership and Lab Management to develop and execute a PFAS-specific sales strategy. Research and segment target markets within environmental, municipal, and industrial sectors. Act as an educational resource to potential clients on PFAS contamination, regulatory context, and testing methodologies. Conduct high-volume outreach through phone, email, and networking platforms to schedule appointments. Regularly conduct on-site and remote meetings with clients to understand their needs and present Nova's testing capabilities. Achieve and exceed KPIs for client engagements, qualified leads, and closed contracts. Maintain organized and detailed records in CRM software for sales activity and client tracking. Guide customers through the onboarding process, helping them understand sample requirements, turnaround times, and reporting formats. Attend environmental industry conferences and events to promote Nova EnviroLabs and build professional networks. Generate and submit weekly/monthly sales and pipeline reports to the leadership team. Stay current with PFAS regulations, monitoring programs, and competitive developments. Maintain consistent communication with the laboratory team to align sales commitments with operational capacity. Knowledge & skill requirements include: 35 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in environmental testing, industrial services, or compliance sectors. Working knowledge of PFAS contamination issues, remediation practices, and regulatory frameworks is highly preferred. Familiarity with scientific sales and ability to communicate technical details to non-technical clients. Experience using CRM tools and sales analytics platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a consultative selling approach. Capable of independently managing a sales cycle from lead generation to close. Bonus: experience working with or selling to municipalities, engineering firms, or water utilities. This is a strategic sales role requiring deep client listening, creative market penetration tactics, and a command of emerging PFAS testing standards. Challenges will include educating prospects in a still-developing regulatory space, managing customized project scopes, and navigating technical questions with support from Nova's scientific team. The Sales Executive will operate with significant autonomy and is expected to make informed, ethical decisions grounded in scientific accuracy and long-term client value. Final pricing structures and service commitments should align with lab leadership input. This role reports directly to the CEO. Progress will be evaluated monthly based on pipeline activity, contract value, and conversion rates. The incumbent is responsible for building a profitable and sustainable PFAS testing client base and shaping the broader growth strategy of Nova EnviroLabs. Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Business, or a related field preferred. Experience in regulated industry sales and/or laboratory services. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to educate and influence buying decisions in technical contexts. Physical requirements include: Regular communication via phone, email, and virtual meetings (approx. 50% of workday). Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods (approx. 75% of workday). Occasional lifting of up to 23 kg and pulling of up to 68 kg during tradeshow or client site setup. Periodic travel required for client meetings and conferences.
