We are looking for a highly motivated Personal Banker to join our growing team at our 23rd Banking Center in McAllen, Texas. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, cash handling experience and an interest in learning more about banking. The Personal Banker II provides quality customer service while conducting a variety of savings, checking, and credit transactions. Responsibilities include maintaining a cash drawer, performing teller transactions, balancing cash daily, opening new consumer accounts, and assisting established customers with their personal banking needs. This role requires advanced knowledge of bank products and services and the ability to recommend solutions that meet customer needs. Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. (hours vary) Saturdays, 8:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (on rotation) What You'll Do: Perform retail transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing; balance cash drawer daily and assist with vault and ATM balancing as needed. Open and maintain consumer accounts; process account changes accurately and prepare documentation such as signature cards, debit cards, wires, and stop payments. Explain bank products and services; proactively cross-sell and make retention and business development calls to existing and potential customers. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally; escalate complex matters when necessary. Process related services including check orders, wire transfers, sweeps, service charges, and dispute forms for ATM, debit, and ACH transactions. Ensure compliance with CIP, BSA, AML and all bank policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Maintain a professional work environment and a strong record of attendance and punctuality Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of banking experience. Two years prior cash handling experience preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking ability preferred. Strong math and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure in a high monetary risk environment. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, phones, photocopiers, adding machines and scanners. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is required to talk, hear, stand, walk, stoop and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 5 to 40 pounds. This position involves standing for long periods of time, frequently viewing a computer monitor; requires good hand-eye coordination and good arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp.
