Parts Counter Position

The Parts Counter person at Minot Automotive Company will be responsible for assisting customers in finding the right parts and accessories for their vehicles. Responsibilities include overseeing the parts sales process from start to finish, communicating with customers on parts status, communicating with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner, reading and understanding the parts catalog when looking up parts, answering phone calls, providing price quotes and other information, reviewing estimates to ensure the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate, providing high level service to internal and external customers, pulling and filling orders from stock, maintaining a weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock, notifying parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention, locating out-of-stock parts from outside source and submitting an emergency order if necessary, maintaining a clean and organized parts department, and making sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order. Requirements

Strong communication and customer service skills, knowledge of automotive parts and accessories, attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Description of the Role

Qualifications include having a High School Diploma or equivalent, experience with auto parts sales (preferred), ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, strong organizational and time management skills, ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Physical demands include standing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; talking or hearing; walking and reaching with hands and arms; sitting occasionally; lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and more than 100 pounds occasionally; and specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
