
Job Description
The Mechanical Drafter / CAD Designer will support assigned projects by creating high‑quality 2D and 3D drawings, models, and documentation used for fabrication, assembly, and production. This role works closely with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to ensure accurate designs, maintain product data, and support continuous improvement through engineering changes.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Drafting
- Develop detailed General Arrangement (GA), Fabrication, and Assembly drawings using both 2D and 3D CAD tools.
- Build and maintain accurate SolidWorks and AutoCAD models, assemblies, and drawings.
- Create and manage parts, part numbers, descriptions, BOMs, and specifications.
- Produce complete drawing packages for production, installation, and service teams.
- Execute and track Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) within PLM and ERP systems.
- Ensure documentation accuracy, revision control, and configuration management.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and purchasing to resolve design issues and implement improvements.
- Generate CNC cut files for burn tables using CAM software.
- Apply knowledge of metal fabrication, welding practices, and manufacturing processes to ensure manufacturable designs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Technical Certificate or AA in Drafting preferred.
- 3–5 years drafting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- 1–2 years of SolidWorks experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, mechanical drafting, and design fundamentals.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication, welded assemblies, and shop practices.
- Strong organizational skills and a detail‑oriented approach.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
