Position Summary: Lead with the Business Unit Commercial Leader and other Commercial Directors, as part of the main customer-facing group in the BU while leading customer accounts, price, and forecast revenue for commercial focus and owning vital business processes/systems. Drives Business Expansion sales for current customer portfolio across global network. Lead through role model leadership, proactive performance management and mentor, and focused engagement to attract, retain and develop talent. Maintains ongoing responsibility over all aspects of customer business management including communications, contract compliance, financials, scopes of work, timelines, risk analysis, governance structure, and conflict resolution.
This role acts as advisor to sites, becomes actively involved as required to resolve problems. Exercises consistent independent judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for acquiring solutions. While developing strong positions for all late phase and commercial opportunities to assist in shaping a comprehensive business/asset strategy and support the portfolio perspective.
Additionally, this role will: Enable outstanding quotations and agreements with existing customers in closing; support sales team in closing opportunities with current customers if needed. Ensures strong foundational business relationships exist with clients in terms of building and implementing growth and governance strategies. Advocates for clients, influences PSG, improves operations, balances customer and organization priorities. Give ideas to important projects like cross selling, marketing approaches Ensures process and tools for Business Unit (BU) level: governance models, customer dashboards including key performance indicators, PPI partnership approaches, costing, risk mitigation strategies
Key Responsibilities: Lead mid and long-range revenue forecasting Ensure team compliance with BM policies and mentor and upskill talent within the team Lead customer communications and contract compliance while maintain strong business relationships with clients and communicate to leadership for customer concerns. Influence across PSG for improved operational performance Align governance models, customer dashboards, and risk mitigation strategies Participate in BU reporting and business review meetings Advise sites to resolve customer problems
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a life sciences field M.B.A. is preferred. Ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry with 5-8 years in commercial strategy, business management, project management, supply chain, sales, or marketing with strong financial skills, P&L understanding.
Additionally, skilled / qualified with: Routine use of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word is important. Pharmaceutical or Contract Manufacturing shown experience. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and experience with budgeting and forecasting. Proven track record to function effectively in a matrixed organization. Ability to lead multiple priorities simultaneously and respond appropriately to change. Ability to interact successfully with clients to advance customer strategy outcomes. Demonstrated success in client relationship management and contract negotiations Strong financial acumen including P&L management and forecasting expertise Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and GMP environment Advanced project management and collaborative leadership capabilities Excellent strategic planning and business development skills Excellent oral and written communication skills. Availability to travel 20-50% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $160,100.00–$240,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
