Position Overview BPI is seeking a Millwork Pre-Finish Associate to support operations in our Millwork facility. This role is an integral part of the pre-finish department, responsible for helping deliver high-quality, finished interior doors that meet BPI standards. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and takes pride in producing consistent, quality craftsmanship while working efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare interior doors and millwork components for finishing by sanding, cleaning, and inspecting surfaces
Fill nail holes, seams, and surface imperfections using appropriate fillers and materials
Mask, tape, and protect areas not intended for paint or finish application
Apply primers, sealers, or base coats as required, following product and quality specifications
Inspect pre‑finished surfaces to ensure readiness for final paint or stain application
Maintain a clean and organized pre‑finish work area to support quality and efficiency
Follow safety procedures and proper handling of paints, coatings and related materials
Skills & Qualifications
Experience in millwork, carpentry, cabinetry, or a related manufacturing environment
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
Solid math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Effective communication and organizational skills
Ability to safely operate power tools and accurately read a standard measuring tape
Physical Demands
Ability to work at a steady pace and frequently lift 30-40 lbs., with occasional lifts up to 70 lbs. Two‑person lifts are used when possible
Must successfully pass all pre‑employment screenings, including drug testing and a physical functions test
