Portfolio Execution Group Portfolio Execution Group encompasses multiple teams that perform a range of functional roles including trade execution, funding & liquidity management, securities financing, and applied quantitative research. This group comprises three sub‑teams – Global Trading Unit (GTU), Balance Sheet Management Group (BMG), and Applied Research Unit (ARU).

Global Trading Unit The Global Trading Unit (GTU) is the first port of call for GIC's investment teams and external counterparties in all trading‑related matters. We are a global team with desks in Singapore, London, New York, and execute trades in equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. We are passionate about delivering timely and impactful market intelligence to stakeholders that is additive to the investment process, as well as leveraging technology and superior research to achieve best execution.

What will you do as an Execution Trader?

Partner closely with portfolio management teams to manage execution risks and implement investment views across a wide range of cash and derivative instruments.

Synthesize market themes and insights, produce timely and differentiated intelligence for GIC stakeholders.

Work closely with colleagues from the Applied Research Unit (ARU) and Technology Group (TG) to gain insights from trading data and continuously sharpen execution, and further improve GTU's trading technology suite in areas such as automated trading, pre‑ and post‑trade checks, and market surveillance.

Build and maintain strong relationships with GIC's counterparties and liquidity providers through strong interpersonal and communication skills.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

2–5 years of relevant trading experience, with a preference for equity trading.

Ability to program in Python; a passion for gaining insights from data would be a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication with strong negotiation skills; effective in building interpersonal relationships to positively impact business outcomes.

Exceptional problem‑solving and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail.

Pleasant, dynamic, self‑motivated, and team oriented.

Compensation Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive package to attract and retain talent globally. Base pay and bonus together compose total pay. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $120,000 and $190,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
