What we’re looking for… The Partner Business Development Manager for Public Sector is a hunter position responsible for driving growth across ScienceLogic’s Public Sector partner ecosystem. This position will focus on cultivating strategic partnerships through prospecting, cold calling, and networking, with high‑impact Federal Systems Integrators (FSIs) and key Value‑Added Resellers (VARs) holding program business that aligns to the Skylar One and Skylar AI platforms.
This role will be responsible for driving growth through proactive business development, opportunity development, federal initiative mapping, and supporting account executives with repeatable, partner‑led GTM motions. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of strategic planning, networking, partner enablement, sales execution, and cross‑functional leadership.
What you’ll be doing… Key Objectives:
Lead FSI and VAR business development efforts to increase partner‑sourced and partner‑influenced revenue
Position Skylar One and Skylar AI as mission‑critical platforms for secure, automated IT operations across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments
Strengthen ScienceLogic’s collective influence with senior public sector decision makers and federal program leaders
Core Responsibilities:
Develop executive‑level relationships and ongoing pursuit alignment with partner practice leads
Develop partner‑aligned GTM plans based on federal priorities such as IT Modernization, Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure programs, shared services and government efficiency initiatives, data, cloud, AI & identify investments, and operational resilience
Build and execute a partner strategy that scales ScienceLogic’s presence across DoD, IC, Federal Civilian (with a focus on Law Enforcement and Healthcare), and SLED agencies
Use internal intelligence, GovWin/SAM.gov insights, and partner data to track funding flows, identify key programs, and prioritize agency pursuits
Establish partner‑led solution offerings integrating SL1/Skylar AI into managed services, modernization programs, and ATO‑ready architectures
Facilitate technical integration labs, demo environments, and field‑ready content that enable partners to demonstrate value aligned to agency missions
Communicate Partner Program Requirements & Benefits across the ecosystem and oversee partner onboarding and continuous learning requirements
Ensure partner pipeline discipline, quoting accuracy, and adherence to margin‑protection and tiering rules
Attend marketing and industry events which may take place outside of standard business hours (travel up to 30%)
Qualities you possess…
Strategic Partner Leadership:
Ability to build, manage, and scale high‑value relationships with FSIs, VARs, and ecosystem partners
Public Sector Expertise:
Strong understanding of federal budgeting, acquisition, contract vehicles, and procurement processes
Technical Acumen:
Familiarity with observability, AIOps, IT operations automation, cloud architectures, cybersecurity, and modernization frameworks
Sales Execution:
Proven ability to build pipeline, co‑sell with partners, influence pursuits, and drive revenue outcomes
Communication & Influence:
Executive presence with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to engage federal leaders
Program & Process Discipline:
Operational excellence in forecasting, pipeline inspection, partner governance, and cross‑functional alignment
Required Qualifications
7+ years in Public Sector channel management, partner sales, FSI/VAR ecosystem leadership, business development, or Federal IT solutions sales
Experience working with major FSIs and VARs in the federal market (Leidos, GDIT, Booz Allen, Lockheed Martin, RTX, Boeing, SAIC, CACI, Accenture Federal, Peraton, WWT, CDW‑G, FCN, Thundercat, V3Gate, Red River, etc.)
Deep understanding of Federal modernization priorities (AI, cyber, cloud, observability, automation, Zero Trust)
Demonstrated success driving partner certification programs, technical enablement, and joint go‑to‑market efforts
Knowledge of federal acquisition lifecycle, proposal development, and procurement vehicles
Proven ability to influence complex sales cycles in DoD, Federal Civilian, or SLED environments
Strong industry relationships and networking skills; ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels
Familiarity with tools like GovWin, Sam.gov, and SFDC
Preferred Experience:
Background in observability, monitoring, AIOps, automation platforms, or IT infrastructure
Experience building partner strategies for platform‑based solutions
Existing relationships with senior federal technology leaders
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously
