Position Summary The Life Enrichment Coordinator, reporting directly to the Executive Director, helps enhance residents’ quality of life by developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive life enrichment program. This role plans and facilitates meaningful activities, events, and experiences that promote social engagement, physical and cognitive stimulation, creativity, and emotional well-being. The coordinator partners with residents, families, and community team members to ensure programs reflect resident interests, abilities, and life stories, creating an environment that promotes health, purpose, and joy.

Essential Functions

Assist in planning, scheduling and leading community activities, programs, holiday celebrations, and special events.

Introduce new residents and their families to the community’s life enrichment programs.

Assist in coordinating holiday decoration displays for the community.

Contribute to resident assessments by assisting in completing Life Stories.

Assist in taking activity attendance and communicating with families via Cedarhurst’s electronic platform.

Attend monthly virtual education meetings provided by Home Office Support.

Drive the community bus for outings and appointments as needed.

Ensure effective communication with residents’ families regarding residents’ care, wellbeing, and needs.

Work well with others, take direction from management, and engage in conflict intervention and resolution as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

License to drive the community bus or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

CPR or BLS certification preferred.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and applicable HR systems.

Working Conditions

The position may require walking or standing for extended periods and moving throughout the community.

You may need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to climb or balance.

Effective communication and ability to interpret written information are required.

May lift up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance.

Follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including PPE when necessary.

Participate in staff activities to foster teamwork and morale.

Stay current on training and ongoing education initiatives and pursue opportunities for continuous learning.
