Position Description :
Performs, coaches, and mentors within the team to achieve full potential, deliver value, and evolve the Agile approach—improving performance and profitability. Influences the approach and behaviors of associates and leaders, to embrace and demonstrate Agile principles, practices, and leadership behaviors. Improves Agile metrics and value delivered in partnership with Scrum Masters Squad leads, and Product Area Leads. Supports domain-level continuous plans and improvements in addition to engineering practices initiatives, including code coverage, code quality, continuous integration, and a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborates and shares findings and knowledge across teams, the organization, and peer Scrum Masters, to improve Agile culture and practices.
Coaches Squads on Agile cultural and business applications and builds core and common competencies across product areas.
Applies Agile practices at the domain and product area levels and breaks down large batches into smaller squads to maintain focus on pace of delivery.
Collaborates with Squad Leaders to identify solutions to development obstacles.
Delivers training and oversight to ensure knowledge transfer of specialized skills in technical, product management, project management, and user experience areas.
Identifies challenges, tests hypothesis, and evaluates solutions, including championing innovative technology solutions and research methodologies.
Collaborates with key stakeholder teams to align with the product strategy and multi-year roadmap.
Works cross-functionally to understand business priorities and to ensure alignment against work.
Works with design, development, and solution delivery to optimize efficiency and eliminate friction for ongoing project delivery.
Accelerating overall squad performance, efficiency and value delivered by engaging within and across squads to find opportunities to improve agile maturity and metrics, and providing coaching, training and resources.
Maintains and updates squad performance metrics and artifacts to ensure accurate and clear feedback to the squad members and transparency to other partners.
Manages, coordinates logistics for and participating in agile events prioritization, sprint planning, daily meetings, retrospectives and as appropriate scaled events including scrum of scrum masters.
Supports adoption and consistent use of enabling tools.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources Management, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Project Management (or closely related occupation) leading or coaching Information Technology (IT) product development teams, using Lean and Agile practices in a financial services or banking domain.
Or, alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources Management, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Project Management (or closely related occupation) leading or coaching Information Technology (IT) product development teams, using Lean and Agile practices in a financial services or banking domain.
Skills and Knowledge
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) leading agile projects in the asset management fixed income domain for a diverse and global organization -- facilitating, visioning, road mapping, identifying issues, and forming hypotheses and solutions -- using tools (Jira and JiraAlign) and Engineering Excellence Maturity Assessments.
DE performing release orchestration with Sonar, Stash, and Jenkins; and visualizing and providing operational support for successful delivery, using PowerBI dashboards.
DE designing, modeling, and testing key processes and practices that enable business and technical agility, and ensuring the efficiency of the products and services delivered across business units, following Lean and Agile methodologies (agile maturity assessments using Agility Health); optimizing value delivery with flow metrics; and kick starting and onboarding new teams using Scrum@Scale to ensure product delivery.
DE coaching technology teams that are developing asset management solutions practices in an asset management fixed income domain.
