The Opportunity This is a senior leadership role for an accomplished
Interior Architect / Interior Designer
with
AD100-caliber experience
(or comparable), ready to lead a studio and elevate both design vision and execution. As
Studio Lead , you will serve as a key partner to the Principal—shaping creative direction, overseeing delivery, and setting the standard for excellence across the studio.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the
creative vision and architectural interior design
of complex, high-end residential projects
Oversee projects from
concept through installation , ensuring design integrity at every phase
Serve as a trusted advisor to
high-profile, private clients , with absolute discretion
Direct, mentor, and inspire a team of designers and project managers
Review and guide the production of
construction documents, custom furniture, millwork, and detailing packages
Establish and uphold studio standards for
drawings, specifications, FF&E, and installations
Oversee
FF&E strategy, sourcing, budgeting, procurement, and logistics
Collaborate closely with
architects, landscape designers, contractors, artisans, and fabricators
Lead client presentations and represent the studio with confidence, authority, and refinement
Who You Are
A design leader with a refined point of view and strong architectural sensibility
Highly organized, detail-driven, and capable of managing complex, multi-year projects
A confident communicator with proven experience leading teams and client relationships
Discreet, polished, and comfortable working with
ultra-high-net-worth clients
Passionate about craftsmanship, materials, and timeless design
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or Architecture
10+ years
of experience in a
top-tier residential design or architecture studio
Proven track record delivering
AD100-level or equivalent high-end residential projects
Strong proficiency in
AutoCAD ; fluency in design documentation and detailing
Working knowledge of
Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
for presentations
Deep expertise in
custom furnishings, millwork, materials, finishes, and specifications
Extensive knowledge of
San Francisco trade resources ; familiarity with
NYC, LA, and European markets
a plus
Ability to lead within a
fast-paced, highly selective studio environment
Valid driver’s license and access to transportation
In-office leadership role
with a highly collaborative studio culture
Frequent engagement with
showrooms, job sites, and artisan workrooms
Occasional
domestic and international travel
$140,000 – $170,000+
(commensurate with experience)
