
Rapid Re-Housing Program (Housing and Urban Development Grant Funded)

Our Rapid Re-Housing program helps people exit homelessness quickly by connecting them to permanent housing and providing short-term financial support and services. We meet clients where they are, assisting with housing search, move-in costs, and ongoing stabilization so they can build self-sufficiency and long-term success.
The Role As a Housing Specialist, you will guide individuals, families, and transition-age youth (TAY) through the housing process. You will collaborate closely with clients, landlords, and internal care teams to remove barriers, advocate for access, and support clients at every step. This role is ideal for someone who is resourceful, relationship-driven, and motivated by helping people achieve meaningful, life-changing milestones.
Your Role in Helping People Secure Housing
Conduct housing intakes and assessments for newly enrolled clients.
Manage an active caseload of approximately 10 clients.
Support clients with housing searches, applications, and move-in preparation.
Lead weekly Rapid Re-Housing orientation sessions with clients to explain program services.
Track available housing in San Diego County and maintain a shared database.
Guide clients through the full lease-up process, ensuring all required grant documentation is complete and entered into the client tracking system.
Participate in team and multidisciplinary team meetings, sharing client progress updates.
Maintain accurate, timely case notes and records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Complete required trainings and assist with other program duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Two years of full-time experience demonstrating reliability, adherence to guidelines, teamwork, and providing professional support to clients or community members, preferably in a housing, social services, or similar environment.
A valid driver’s license is preferred to support occasional travel between locations.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-centered environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to build rapport with diverse clients, community partners, and internal teams.
Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
Basic familiarity with documentation practices and willingness to learn client tracking systems (e.g., CSTAR) and privacy compliance (HIPAA).
Proficiency in typing, Microsoft Office applications, and other standard office technology.
Resourceful, relationship-driven, and motivated to help people navigate services and achieve positive outcomes.
Adaptable, dependable, and able to work independently while collaborating with a team.
Work Schedule Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility to meet client needs, housing appointments, or program requirements. Role includes time in the field and in office settings.
Compensation And Benefits Pay for this position is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The anticipated starting pay range for this role is $21.82 to $23.31 per hour.
