Advertising Summary:
The Office of Admissions is seeking an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions Operations. The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the planning, organization, implementation, and administration of the major operational functions of undergraduate admission processing and enrollment management, while ensuring operational efficiency and positively influencing each recruitment cycle's quantity and quality of completed applications. This recruitment is an internal VCU search; only current VCU employees will be considered for this role.

Duties & Responsibilities Oversee Daily Operations of Undergraduate Admissions Processing Team (55%):
Manage and provide daily support to the undergraduate processing team, including serving as a resource for the escalation of individual applicant issues and concerns.
Develop, manage, evaluate, and implement processes that support effective, comprehensive undergraduate admissions functions at the university.
Oversee the timely processing of special applications and programs such as Summer Scholars Guaranteed Admission and Honors, Medical Laboratory Sciences and Clinical Radiations Science, etc.
Manage admission operation processes including application import and input, scanning, indexing, technology configuration/integration, and technology updates and troubleshooting.
Assist with annual set‑up and rollover processes related to The Common Application and other activities.
Maintain data integrity between SIS and CRM and ensure data is congruent for census reporting and all enrollment management processes and initiatives.
Assist with refinements that support business processes.
Perform ongoing assessments and improvements in accordance with best practices.
Monitor key metrics on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly) and collaborate on the in-depth analysis of those metrics.
Actively contribute to deliver a working environment that promotes optimism, collaboration, respect, solution-conscious dialogue, and exceptional service to everyone.
Provide Support and Collaboration (35%):
Collaborate with other offices to synchronize data to meet notification goals.
Liaise with campus constituents, troubleshoot issues, coordinate staff training, and participate in professional development plans.
Meet with university administrators and other stakeholders to understand their needs and to give regular feedback.
Provide daily and on‑going departmental support as appropriate.
Special Projects (10%):
Assist with the implementation and advancement of Admission application software platforms to enhance and streamline admissions processing systems.
Be available to serve on special and/or standing committees.
Stay up to date with technology currently in use at the university and explore ways to implement processing enhancements.
Participate in annual professional development activities/conferences.
Other Position Details: This position is eligible for flexible/remote work options but an on-campus requirement exists.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Current VCU Employee.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
One year of professional admissions experience in higher education.
Experience using large student information systems relating to admissions work.
Experience coordinating projects and completing tasks independently.
Knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and procedures as it relates to admissions operations.
Ability to work in a high-volume, complex environment.
Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of professional admissions experience in higher education.
Experience with Ellucian Banner, Technolutions Slate, Perceptive Content, or The Common Application.
Experience managing subordinate professional, clerical, and/or student staff.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience, minimum recruiting salary of $57,270
