About Us
Located in Dorchester, St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children supports 500 mothers, fathers, and children annually with shelter, clinical and educational services, job training, employment readiness, and search for permanent housing. St. Mary’s Center has expanded and adapted to meet community needs and is now one of the largest family shelter programs in Massachusetts supporting families experiencing homelessness with shelter, transitional and permanent housing, food, basic needs assistance, and critical wrap-around supports.
Grounded in social justice, St. Mary’s Center empowers families to achieve emotional stability and economic independence through education, workforce development, and permanent housing.
Your Role Housing Specialist will provide assessments, intensive housing searches, referral services, advocacy, and follow up stabilization support to parents and their children as they move from shelter to their own homes.
Requirements
Work onsite at our Dorchester location- 90 Cushing Avenue Dorchester MA 02125
Bachelor's degree in human service field preferred, Associate’s required
3-5 years’ experience and knowledge of housing subsidies and homeless and housing issues
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of hire.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds as well as sit and stand for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $44,000.00 per year
