
Diocesan Hispanic Youth Ministry Associate

Position Summary
The Diocesan Hispanic Youth and Adult Ministry Coordinator works in coordination with and under the direct supervision of the Diocesan Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry to develop, implement and promote a Diocesan Pastoral Plan for Hispanic Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

Essential Job Functions
In coordination with the Diocesan Director of Youth and Young Adults, works to develop and implement an overall comprehensive plan for all Hispanic youth and young adults of the diocese.
Serves as the main lead in implementing ministry to, for, and with Hispanic youth and young adults as outlined in the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops “Renewing the Vision” document.
Provides avenues and strategies to make Hispanic youth and young adults known and seen in the diocese. The main emphasis is serving the local parishes and parish leaders by developing specific Hispanic Youth and Young Adults resources and training at the local level.
Develops and implements programs on the parish, deanery, and diocesan levels. With an emphasis on the parish and deanery level.
Works in collaboration with other offices in developing and implementing policies and guidelines for Hispanic youth and young adult ministry.
Develops specific parish training which is geared to developing parish youth and young adult leaders.
Provides ongoing leadership training for sustained ministry in parishes and deaneries.
Collaborates with the Director of Youth and Young Adult office in facilitating English/Spanish joint events.
Works with the Office of Communication to provide information and announcements regarding upcoming Hispanic events.
Develop a social media/communication plan that is coordinated with the Office of Youth and Young adults.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains a Diocesan Hispanic Youth Ministry website.
Develops and maintains a resource library for Hispanic Youth Ministry and Young Adults.
In coordination with the Director, serves the Bishop’s staff regarding input on Hispanic Youth and Young Adult Ministry matters.
Drafts annual budget request for Director’s review and approval. Maintains the budget allocated for the Hispanic Youth and Young Adult Office and gives periodic updates on budget.
Education Requirements/Position Qualifications A Bachelor Degree in Theology, Religious Studies and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Experience working with Hispanic youth and young adults is required. A working knowledge with computers and other office equipment. Administrative skills. Public and Human Relation skills. Practicing Catholic with clear understanding of Catholic Social Teaching. Excellent English/Spanish written and oral skills. Driver’s License required and be able to travel overnight.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements This position requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, using feet, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, reaching above shoulders, and tasting/smelling at least 1/3 of the time. This position requires that you will lift up to 25 pounds at least 1/3 of the time.
