About the Role: We’re searching for an experienced Technical Writer to document Confluent, an advanced version of the Apache Kafka distributed streaming platform. If you possess a passion for technology and communication, you'll thrive in our culture that values clear and effective documentation, allowing developers to build a powerful streaming platform central to their operations. What You Will Do: Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Support, and other teams to craft outstanding documentation that drives customer success.

Create documentation featuring unified examples, consistent styling, and exceptional quality.

Develop documentation in an SEO-friendly, LLM-optimized format that is searchable, browsable, and automated.

What You Will Bring: 5+ years of experience creating technical documentation for an external developer audience.

Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality technical documentation.

Proficiency with modern documentation tools, including Git and GitHub.

Experience with reStructuredText, Markdown, or similar markup languages.

Ability to read and understand code in languages such as Java or Python.

Experience with cloud products and documenting distributed systems technologies.

Demonstrated project management and cross-team collaboration capabilities.

Experience using generative AI tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot for content creation and clarity enhancement.

Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, Learning Technology, or a related field.
