Pricing Analyst - Fresh – FT 40 hrs. per wk. Department: Pricing Department Reports to: Pricing Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Salary Level: $22.00 - $32.00/hr.

Summary

Responsible for pricing of fresh products, related analysis and processes. Assists the Pricing Manager with development and implementation of strategies for overall pricing and related systems. Involves creation and analysis of complex spreadsheets and ability to efficiently and accurately process large amounts of data. Summarizes results of analyses in concise format and communicates complex financial data to non-financial internal customers. Maintains accurate pricing across fresh pricing channels. Provides the highest level of service to BriarPatch Food Co-op’s internal and external customers. This is an on-site position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Pricing Systems and Analysis

Evaluate product pricing and margins to ensure consistency with defined pricing strategies and department margin goals.

Make recommendations regarding pricing strategy.

Implement and consistently apply defined pricing strategies to attain pricing and margin goals.

Help ensure accurate pricing for designated products.

Process price changes as scheduled, across all channels, and on a timely basis.

Make recommendations regarding improvements to pricing practices.

Ongoing monitoring of competitor market pricing and make recommendations for remaining competitive.

Assist Pricing Manager with creating and implementation of a pricing review calendar for designated products.

Develop and analyze in-house product reports for strategies to increase sales and achieve margin targets.

Seek and utilize external data to assist with the above duties.

Develop and maintain knowledge of BriarPatch’s point of sale (POS) system. Continually seek ways to increase this knowledge and assist fellow department members with ensuring utilization of the system to its maximum potential.

Review price data in the POS system to ensure accuracy and consistency with established goals and parameters.

Maintain updated prices in BriarPatch's food service management software.

Distribute accurate prices to BriarPatch's scale, digital menu board, website, Made-to-Order and other pricing channels.

Generate customized reports, download data, and create spreadsheet analysis as needed.

Other

Serve as liaison between operations departments and the Pricing Department related to assigned duties, offering excellent service to these internal customers, within the parameters of established Pricing Department protocols.

Stay abreast of industry trends by utilizing tools available and attending off-site training as needed.

Participate fully in department activities, including attending department meetings, Open Book Management Gatherings and department trainings as required.

Review and troubleshoot quarterly inventory count result data in coordination with Finance.

Responsibilities to Safety

Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.

Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to supervisor.

Follow all company and safety policies and procedures.

Education and/or Experience

Two-year college degree and two years related experience, or equivalent related work experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial co-workers.

Ability to write manuals and strategies that others can easily understand and utilize.

Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees, and other Managers.

Mathematical Skills

Understanding of common fractions, decimals and percent.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or electronic form•Ability to be presented with an issue, troubleshoot it and analyze the best course of action.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work independently.

Computer Skills An individual should have knowledge of:

Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Office suite of products

Intermediate or advanced level knowledge of spreadsheet software, Excel preferred

Point of Sale software, ECRS/Catapult preferred

Reciprocity software preferred

Ability to successfully learn software suites used to maintain accurate pricing across channels
