JOB SUMMARY The Account Executive, Government & Education Sales, is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and managing relationships with government agencies, municipalities, school districts, higher education institutions, and other public‑sector organizations. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing the full sales cycle, and delivering fiber connectivity solutions that meet the unique needs of government and education customers. The account executive operates with a high degree of autonomy while aligning closely with internal teams to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow revenue within assigned government and education accounts and territories.
Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with local, state, and regional government entities and education institutions.
Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, presentations, proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing.
Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers, influencers, and procurement officials.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales Engineering, Construction, Legal, and Operations, to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements.
Maintain accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, and activity tracking within CRM systems.
Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory considerations, and funding opportunities relevant to government and education customers.
Represent Ezee Fiber at industry events, community meetings, and customer presentations as required.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience is considered. A minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience, with a focus on government, public sector, or education sales, is preferred.
Proven experience managing complex sales cycles and navigating public‑sector procurement processes.
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet sales objectives.
COURTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
FIELD AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS The field and environmental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds as needed. Tolerate exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and uneven or slippery surfaces. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during all applicable tasks.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to travel up to 50% to project sites, regional offices, vendor meetings, and other business locations as required.
