This role will manage and grow our existing lighting showroom, furniture store, and specialty store accounts while developing new business opportunities through targeted customer acquisition.

How success is defined:
Account Management:
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing lighting showroom and furniture store accounts.
Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any issues promptly.
Develop and execute strategic plans to increase sales volume and profitability within existing accounts.
New Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with lighting showrooms, furniture stores, and specialty stores.
Develop tailored sales presentations and proposals to attract new clients.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities within the industry.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop product positioning and promotional activities.
Provide regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and market insights to senior management.
Product Knowledge & Training:
Maintain a deep understanding of product offerings and industry trends.
Educate clients on product features, benefits, and applications.
Provide product training to retail staff to enhance product knowledge and sales performance.
Relationship Building:
Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within client organizations.
Attend industry trade shows, events, and client meetings to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
VCC General:
Work effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.

Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule. Be fully present in the workplace to effectively collaborate and communicate amongst coworkers and teams.
What you will bring:
Experience working with lighting showrooms and furniture stores.
Familiarity with specialty store sales and distribution models.
Minimum of
5 years
of experience managing relationships in independent distribution channels.
High School diploma or GED required.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for this role
Experience in lighting product sales is a strong plus.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
Travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Experience working with lighting showrooms and furniture stores.
Proficiency in CRM software and sales reporting tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating Systems and Programs
Experience in interior design, custom home building products, luxury home furnishings and/or lighting industry a plus
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone
Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings
Must be located in the DC, Maryland or Virginia
