Job Summary Account Managers perform routine responsibilities and serve as the primary point of contact for the clients they oversee. They are individual contributors with occasional guidance and apply the principles of insurance to everyday situations, develop coverage strategies, and support the sales and service of policies.

Responsibilities

Perform daily service on assigned tasks by Producers and/or Account Executives, following the agency’s written procedures:

Service accounts, including account transactions such as quoting and issuing policies, issuing ID cards, preparing proposal endorsements, certificates, claims, renewals, follow‑up, and correspondence.

Respond to client inquiries, incoming mail, and company requests in a timely manner.

Engage in insurance marketing and sales activities.

Collect renewal data on assigned accounts.

Provide claims support.

Develop coverage strategies and plans as necessary.

Review new/renewal policies and endorsements to ensure items were received as ordered.

Maintain accuracy of client data in the agency management system (Applied Systems / EPIC).

Document all activities in the agency management system (Applied Systems / EPIC).

Understand and utilize upload, download and interface technology.

Assist other departments in securing and/or providing information necessary to issue appropriate policies for mutual clients.

Keep Producers informed of all important activities on their accounts and alert management to potential problems.

Stay current with industry trends by participating in educational seminars and classes to improve insurance/sales skills and license compliance.

Maintain knowledge of current underwriting requirements of contracted insurance carriers.

Maintain knowledge of policy provisions and any changes in these provisions.

Complete other functions and assignments as assigned, including back‑up duties.

Requirements

Active Property & Casualty license required; construction experience is a plus.

Strong organizational skills, ability to discern priorities and take initiative.

Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Mathematical skills: ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, premiums, commissions, proportions and percentages.

Reasoning skills: ability to solve practical problems, interpret instructions and handle variables supplied in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Experience with Applied Systems / EPIC is a plus.

Knows and applies principles of insurance to everyday situations.

Education / Experience

High school diploma required; Associate degree or higher preferred.

Minimum of two years of experience in commercial lines.

CPCU or special training course completion is a plus.

Pay Details The base compensation range for this position is $90,000 – $125,000. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location and internal equity. Candidates should be comfortable with an on‑site presence to support collaboration, team leadership and cross‑functional partnership.
