
Catering Sales & Club Membership Manager

The Catering Sales & Club Membership Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of event sales and maintaining club member satisfaction standards. The role solicits and secures group and catering events, from planning to execution, and is accountable for enhancing the club member’s experience through creative events and workshops. Working closely with all areas of the property, the manager ensures private events are executed at fine dining service levels.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities Event Sales Perform all event needs and sales support including direct sales calls, sales blitzes, property tours, quoting rates, contract development, arranging food and beverage, audio visual requirements, overseeing meetings on the day of the event, posting of charges, presentation of bill and follow‑up. Identify, qualify, and solicit new group/catering business to achieve personal and property revenue goals. Proactively solicit and manage group/catering opportunities and respond to incoming requests. Identify opportunities for upselling, cross‑selling, and repeat business to maximize revenue. Design, develop, and sell creative catered events, focusing on high‑potential accounts. Ensure business is turned over accurately and in a timely fashion for superior service delivery. Work closely with clients to provide exceptional customer service and support in the planning, organization, and management of events within the facility. Monitor event logistics before, during, and after the event, ensuring all related tasks are performed accurately, including space requirements, equipment rentals, tastings, menus, invoicing, and theme concept/decorating. Build and maintain long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective clients by understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions. Develop and maintain relationships within the community to expand the customer base for group/catering sales opportunities. Work diligently to achieve and exceed personal and team revenue goals set by leadership annually and reviewed quarterly. Attend sales meetings.
Club Membership Assist with lead generation program and conduct outreach to attract, identify, and recruit new member prospects via outbound calling, networking, and marketing. Collaborate and coordinate with the culinary and operations teams to ensure smooth event operations and engaging member experiences, including special events and workshops. Ensure a successful and smooth onboarding experience for new members by building relationships and acquiring important knowledge to support and engage them and their families. Promote referral programs with existing club members and staff. Track member attendance at events and update strategy to increase engagement rates, as needed. Represent The Commodore at local industry events to create brand awareness and drive revenue. All other duties as assigned.
Requirements Qualification Requirements Strong partnering, influencing, and relationship building skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Self‑starter with excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills. Able to build relationships at all levels of the organization, members, and guests. Exceptional interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, changing environment while remaining calm under pressure. Demonstrated strong performance analytical, innovative, and critical thinking, and collaboration. Experience with computer systems and software used for member management and event planning. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the club's operations.
Education And/or Experience Requirements Associate degree in Event Planning/Catering or related field, preferred. Minimum of three years’ experience in an event planning management role in a catering establishment/venue, required. Certified in food service sanitation as mandated by the state of Wisconsin. Experience with information systems related to event planning management or catering sales management.
Physical Requirements Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods during site visits, event setup, and service hours. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods when performing administrative duties, attending meetings, or managing correspondence. Must be able to lift, carry, or move items up to 25 pounds. Requires the ability to bend, reach, stoop, and climb stairs throughout the property. Must have manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate a computer, phone, and other standard office or event equipment. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in person, by phone, and in writing, often in fast‑paced or high‑pressure situations. Requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the club’s event schedule. Must maintain a polished, professional appearance consistent with the standards of a luxury private club environment. Requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely for off‑site meetings, vendor visits, or event‑related errands; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
