The Technical Illustrator is responsible for writing technical materials, such as manuals and operating instructions to go with various machines. They will explode parts drawings and write operating and maintenance procedures/instructions for equipment. They will adhere to all Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.

Explode assembly drawings to design parts illustration layouts to create parts manuals.

Write instructions for operating and maintaining the equipment operating manuals.

Organize technical data in an easy-to-understand format.

Ensure quality and accuracy of all procedures, instructions, technical data, and parts illustrations.

Observe production to determine operating procedure and details.

Edit, standardize, or make changes to materials.

Use of computer software to create detailed diagrams of parts.

Maintain records and files to work and revisions.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Solid Edge or other 3-D CAD software.

Adobe InDesign and Photoshop experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail.

Bachelors’ degree in related field preferred but not required.

Two (2) or more years of experience in a related position.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently sit for extended periods of time

Occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend

Requires employee to occasionally work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions.

Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
