The Social Marketing Coordinator supports the social media production and publishing efforts for NBC News digital platforms. This role plays a key part in driving audience growth and engagement across multiple social media accounts in a fast-paced, high-pressure newsroom environment. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with teams across locations and time zones. Key Responsibilities
Support the production, scheduling, and publishing of content across multiple social media platforms Assist in managing the “hot seat,” helping to define, grow, and maintain NBC News social media accounts Write engaging headlines, edit short-form video, and distribute content in real time Maintain accuracy and focus during breaking news and high-stakes coverage, ensuring social platforms remain active and reliable Analyze social and website performance metrics and assist with reporting and insights Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time zones Demonstrate initiative as a self-starter while contributing effectively within a team environment Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of editing experience in a newsroom environment, with dedicated social publishing experience preferred Ability to work effectively in a remote and hybrid work environment Strong interest in and awareness of NBC News personalities, programming, and brand voice Experience with social media analytics, reporting, and performance analysis preferred Ability to thrive in a creative, fast-paced, competitive, and high-pressure news environment Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
