Job Description Summary Marketing Manager The Marketing Manager at Sonesta Resort Hilton Head is responsible for developing and executing property‑level marketing strategies that drive awareness and maximize revenue across all hotel market segments and Food & Beverage outlets.
Reporting to the property Director of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing Manager will lead the resort’s marketing initiatives as well as implementation of local partnerships and activations. The Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with the Corporate Field Marketing Manager, ensuring alignment with brand standards, digital best practices, and enterprise‑level strategy. This role focuses on property‑owned channels and initiatives, while leveraging cross‑functional support for activities and platforms managed at the corporate portfolio level.
Key Responsibilities Public Relations, Social Media & Influencers
Partner with the DOSM to manage resort’s PR agency of record, understanding business and commercial needs in order to inform strategy and plans.
Support press/influencer stays and venue visits on site when needed, coordinating itineraries, photo moments, and talking points.
Develop relationships with local media and influencers/content creators in food & beverage, travel, and lifestyle verticals.
Write and Edit Content
Write and edit content for internal and external communications, including websites, advertisements, marketing/sales materials, and presentations.
Manage local social media advertising budget, maximizing reach and awareness for F&B outlets and local programming, complementing corporate‑managed hotel paid social strategy.
Maintain accurate and current tracking systems for all current, upcoming, and past initiatives.
Own the hotel’s social media strategy and content engine, developing robust content calendar and collaborating with property sales and marketing coordinator on planning, creation, scheduling, and reporting.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, bringing new ideas and strategies to the table.
Programming, Partnerships & Brand Initiatives
Create and implement dynamic, brand‑aligned programming and partnerships that boost awareness, drive traffic, and increase revenue, while executing brand‑wide initiatives at the property level.
Work closely with Food & Beverage and partners to develop strategies and programs that drive traffic and revenue to F&B outlets for both hotel guests and external customers.
Support people operations with brand training and activation of internal brand initiatives.
Creative, Photo/Video & Collateral
Provide on‑site support for photo/video shoots as required, coordinating with corporate Brand and Marketing teams on architectural, lifestyle, or partnership‑led shoots in accordance with corporate SOP and merchandising standards.
Utilize enterprise‑provided creative toolkit to ensure property marketing materials such as flyers, menus, signage, and event collateral are in alignment with brand standards.
Commercial Engagement & Project Management
Partner with DOSM and other department leaders to develop and maintain the annual property marketing calendar, including seasonal promotions, F&B activations, and recreation programming.
Partner with corporate Marketing to ensure accuracy of owned website and online listings content for the hotel and outlets.
Participate in meetings and calls with hotel, sales, revenue, corporate marketing, and external PR agency, both in‑person and virtually.
Represent the hotel and brand professionally at community and industry events and organizations.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, bringing new ideas and strategies to the table.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR/Communications, or Hospitality and Tourism Management.
5–8 years’ experience in marketing or PR/communications, preferably in a hotel or food & beverage environment.
Strong understanding of media relations and brand management.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and bringing experiences to life.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, restaurant/hotel partners, and external stakeholders.
Experience using the following tools/platforms: WordPress, Canva or Adobe Express, Meta Business Suite.
