Location: Northampton (Hybrid, Once a Week In the Office)
Salary: Up to 55,000
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Our client is seeking a Technical Lead of Digital Products to provide technical direction and assurance across a range of digital platforms. This role works closely with Product Managers and Product Owners as a technical business partner and supports the Head of Digital Products & User Experience in shaping and delivering high‑quality digital services.
This is a leadership and oversight role rather than a hands‑on development position, focused on platform quality, supplier management, and technical decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
Provide technical oversight across digital platforms, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, accessible, and fit for purpose
Act as a technical partner to Product Managers and Product Owners, supporting product delivery and prioritisation
Support the Head of Digital Products & UX as a key technical advisor
Manage day‑to‑day technical relationships with external digital agencies and suppliers
Identify and resolve technical risks, issues, and dependencies across digital products
Use data, performance insights, and user feedback to support continuous improvement
Ensure platforms meet security and accessibility standards.
Maintain clear technical standards, documentation, and ways of working
Required experience
Experience providing technical oversight or assurance for digital platforms
Strong understanding of digital platforms, architecture, and third‑party delivery models
Experience working in a product‑led or agile environment alongside Product Managers and Product Owners
Familiarity with Drupal CMS and Microsoft Dynamics 365
Experience managing external suppliers or digital agencies
Working knowledge of accessibility, performance, and security best practice
Skills & attributes
Able to translate technical considerations for non‑technical stakeholders
Confident working at the intersection of product, UX, and technology
Strong judgement, problem‑solving, and risk awareness
Collaborative, organised, and comfortable influencing without direct authority
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded digital professional looking to move away from hands‑on delivery and into a platform‑focused leadership role within a product‑driven environment.
