
Director, Global Access & Alliance Management
BACKGROUND
Sentynl Therapeutics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zydus Pharmaceuticals , is a commercial stage biopharmaceutical company focused on bringing innovative therapies to patients living with rare diseases. With an emphasis on commercialization, Sentynl looks to acquire, develop, and commercialize well-differentiated products across a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas to address a variety of genetic, orphan, and neurological disorders. To support its latest acquisitions, Sentynl is searching for a Director, Global Access & Alliance Management.
Position Summary:
The Director of Global Access & Alliance Management will be responsible for shaping and executing strategies to optimize global patient access to our rare disease portfolio. This role will manage day to day international managed access programs as well as manage critical alliance relationships that support the commercialization, development, and geographic expansion as we enable patients to gain access to Sentynl’s therapies around the globe.
This role requires a strategic thinker with deep experience in managed access, an ability to navigate complex global access landscapes, and a proven track record of managing partnerships and collaborating compliantly in a biopharmaceutical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Managed Access
- Develop and implement global managed access strategies for pipeline and marketed products, focusing on rare and ultra-rare diseases.
- Manage the implementation and day-to-day activities for Managed Access Programs.
- Ensure consistent patient supply and inventory management in 40+ countries through thorough collaboration with supply chain, regulatory, and other stakeholders.
- Serve as point person for distribution-related issues to ensure that all eligible patients have product access to treatment.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure programs are designed, implemented, and managed to follow all applicable laws and regulations.
Alliance Management
- Act as primary point of contact for strategic alliance partners across distribution, and licensing partnerships.
- Define governance structures, lead joint steering committees, and ensure delivery of contractual obligations and mutual strategic objectives.
- Monitor alliance health and proactively address challenges or conflicts, maintaining productive and collaborative relationships.
- Support SVP Commercial Strategy & Operations & VP Global Market Access in due diligence and integration planning for future alliances or acquisitions.
- Manage contracting processes and any change management.
- Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders including vendors, partners, strategic organizations, and advocacy groups.
- Represent the company in global access forums, conferences, and consortia relevant to rare diseases.
- Act as a sole contributor initially with the ability to hire, lead, and mentor a small global team of matrixed contributors focused on access and alliance execution as company needs expand.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and local Commercial Teams, to align market access strategies with overall business objectives.
- Champion a patient-first culture and promote innovation and integrity in all access-related initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, or PhD) preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in managed access, pricing & reimbursement, or alliance management roles. Experience in rare or ultra-rare diseases is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in navigating complex access situations.
- Experience negotiating and managing strategic alliances, including joint development or commercialization agreements.
- Strong knowledge of global healthcare systems, HTA processes, and rare disease policy landscapes.
- Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office; particularly Excel.
- Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects.
- A confident self-starter, who can work independently and creatively but also be a team player.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and project management skills; ability to influence at all levels.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated space in full compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
- Work effectively across functions as a team player, demonstrating having achieved common goals.
- The preferred candidate will be local to the Solana Beach, CA office or willing to relocate and we will also consider a remote working arrangement.
- Given global nature of role and urgent needs to supply requests phone calls, email responses, and meetings outside of normal business hours should be expected on a regular basis (including weekends and occasional holidays).

- The base salary for the Director, Global Access & Alliance Management will be $180k to $220k.
